Edwardsville All Stars (a.k.a. EAS) was founded in 2005 by a group of players who always used to play on SIUE fields on Sunday for fun. With serious intentions of participating in various leagues, tournaments, and other competitions; the team became to be officially known as Edwardsville All Stars in 2006 just before the International League tournament held on August 26th in Springfield, IL. Members comprised of people from different nationalities with one goal, to play soccer.

As a result, a bigger cohesion was formed and the team wanted to include more activities and more games in its organization. In 2007, the team expanded its activities to include a 4-team mini International Soccer League comprising of teams from St. Louis. The team also joined the Latin League held in Granite City currently comprising of 14 teams from Madison County, IL. Since its inception, Edwardsville All Stars has been an active participant of the annual major International League tournament in Springfield, IL. This tournament is made up of teams from all over Missouri and Illinois. In addition, the team also plays friendly games during the year when a chance arises

Edwardsville All Stars is an independent club with no affiliations to a company or any sponsor. However, the team looks forward to getting some sponsors in future if, and when such organizations show interest in EAS activities.
EAS started 2007 on a high note, with all players having the determination of winning at least a trophy. The mini International league, however, turned out to be a nightmare when all did not go well. Despite a few losses, draws and a win, members kept their focus on and were determined to join the Latin League.
EAS went further in 2007 to form their own team Logo, preferred colors which range from RED, BLUE, WHITE and BLACK. The Logo is a soccer ball, which is a globe with a world map on it. This pretty much summarizes the objectives of the team – playing soccer by bringing together individuals from all corners of the world. As of now, EAS has 32 members including the officials.
Edwardsville All Stars is also open to outside organizations that can sponsor, advertise and provide other ideas which could be of benefit to the club and society.
In addition to recreational activities, members of EAS may also be involved in community work in order to show a good example to the society. The major purpose of these activities is to provide education to the society and promote sports especially soccer as a way of enhancing a healthy community.
Edwardsville All Stars Soccer Team is currently being run by an interim organizing committee which is preparing a formalized process of running the club. This interim committee is mostly made up of the players themselves. There has been tremendous progress as the team moves forward in unison to reach its goals. Unlike past years, Edwardsville All Stars has seen an improvement in the organization, commitment as well as dedication of the team members. All members have been very willing to volunteer for varied tasks.
For example, a couple of team members have donated the uniforms that are currently being used by the team. The sports management at SIUE has stepped forward to offer the team a home field. On away games, team members offer rides to one another as a cost-sharing measure. On top of everything, all team members have been sacrificing a priceless amount of their time and effort for the good of the club.
